Having moved to Denver in 1945, José and Josie gave birth to their second of four children, and only son, Jerry, on December 21, 1948. Jerry's mother, Josie, recalls that as a babe in arms Jerry used to fuss, cry and point until she would walk him over to any picture that might be hanging on a wall. He would immediately calm down and become engrossed in the image. |
